MFP Stamp Shop Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 247

This week's Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge is to create a card using more than one border.

For my card, I used a sentiment from the  MFP Stamp Shop Sayings Galore stamp set.  The border was created using the Martha Stewart scallop lace border punch and the Fiskars Threading Water border punch.  A wide stripped ribbon was added as embellishment.  The sentiment was die cut using a banner die and popped up with dimensionals.

We hope you'll share your more than one border cards with us this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

OLCCC #2 Halfway Reminder

Here is the halfway reminder for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #2 with the optional twist Snowflakes!

For this one layer snowflake card, I used an embossing folder as a stamp!  I randomly dabbed PTI ink on the negative inside of a snowflake embossing folder then gave it a good spritz of Pearl Glimmer Mist; placed the card front onto the inked and misted embossing folder and rubbed my fingers over it to transfer the ink and image!  (The card has a lot of shimmer but it doesn't show up in the photo.)  The greeting was stamped using a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Fresh Snow stamp set using Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink.  I used Strathmore Hot Press watercolor paper for my card base.

We hope you'll play along with us at OLCCC.  It's a great way to get your 2015 holiday cards completed.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge 96 - Masculine Birthday!

The challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is to create a masculine birthday card!  My dear husband's birthday is coming up, so this theme is one that is near and dear to me!

For my card I used a digital image, paper, and sentiment from Daydream Designs.  Unfortunately, the online store is no longer open for business, but I do love the images I have from there.  After printing the image and cutting it to size, I printed it again and fussy cut the hat and popped it up and then I used crystal effects to give the glasses the "look" of glass (doesn't show up at all in the photo).

We hope you'll play along with the Masculine Birthday challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge 2 - Anything Goes with the Option of Snowflakes

Are you ready for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #2?!  The cards are always anything goes with an optional twist!
Challenge #2 optional twist is snowflakes!

For my one layer card, I used the snowflakes and greeting from the Stampin' Up Serene Snowflakes stamp set .  I stamped the flakes onto Crafters Companion Ultra Smooth White cardstock using different shades of brown dye inks, chocolate chip, close to cocoa, and crumbcake.  Gems were used to embellish the center of the smaller flakes.

We hope you'll play along with the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge (OLCCC)!  What a great way to get ready for the 2015 holiday season!

Crafting When We Can Challenge - Sketch Challenge

Here is the sketch we are using for the CWWC Challenge:

Aurora Wings digi stamps is the sponsor for this challenge and provided the design team with some gorgeous stamps to choose from.  I chose the Orchids in the Rain stamp.

I flipped the image for the two larger panels of the sketch.  Colored using a combination of Pearlescent Chalks and Copic markers.  The side border was created using an EK Success border punch, the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.  The patterned papers are from my scraps stash.  The sentiment is one I purchased several years ago from the Michaels dollar bin.  The wooden flourish was on top of my scrap pile; it looked like a match for the punched border so I used it to embellish the smaller panel opposite the butterfly panel.

We hope you'll play along with the CWWC Sketch Challenge!  You can find the challenge HERE.

MFP SpeedyTV Oriental Sketch Challenge #61

This week's Oriental Sketch Challenge at MFPSpeedyTV is to create a card using this sketch:

For my card, I used the MFP Stamp Shop Dragonflies stamp set.  I stamped the image and sentiment onto designer paper and die cut it using square dies.  I used circle punches to cut and then layer the image from the designer paper over the image on the layered panel to "spotlight" part of the floral image.  The paper I used is from the DCWV Far East paper pack.  The center panel was punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.

We hope you'll play along with this week's challenge.  If you use MFP Stamp Shop stamps on the card you create and enter for the challenge, you'll be entered into a monthly drawing to be a guest designer for one of the challenges on MFPSpeedyTV!

Sparkles Monthly Challenge 64 - Raise a Glass!

Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year!

This month's challenge at the Sparkles Monthly Challenge is to "raise a glass" using anything drink related!

For my card, I found this adorable free digi at Deary Dolls Digi Stamps blog.  The Happy New Year sentiment was stamped from the MFP Stamp Shop New Year stamp set.  After stamping the sentiment, I cut each word apart and used dimensionals to pop them up on my circle card created using Spellbinders circle and scallop circle dies.  I embellished the card using purple gems.

MFP Speedy Fox and Friends Blog Challenge 244

This week's challenge at MFP Speedy Fox and Friends Blog is to layer your card base with punch outs or dies cuts, then emboss it in an embossing folder!

For my card, I used the sentiment from the MFP Stamp Shop Bearded Iris stamp set.  I punched out circles using 4 different sized punches from scraps of designer paper.  I layered the circles onto my card base panel along with a punched border and ran it through an embossing folder.  The sentiment was stamped before embossing the panel.  The multi-loop bow was created using twine and embellished with an adhesive pearl.  I really like the over-all dimension this technique gives.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge - What Did Santa Bring?

I've been a very good girl!  Santa brought me a Brother Scan N Cut machine!  I've not had a lot of time to play with it yet, but what I've done I like!  I used the machine to cut out Rudy Doody Reindeer...beats fussy cutting!  (Rudy is a digi stamp from Daydream Designs).  The Hello sentiment was cut out using the pre-installed words in the Scan N Cut.

We hope you'll share what Santa brought you and play in the challenge.

Crafting When We Can Challenge - Anything But a Card

The Crafting When We Can Challenge #85 is to create Anything But a Card!  The challenge sponsor, Fitztown provided the digital images for the DT to use.  I am showcasing the Fae 9 image.

I decided to create an altered composition book.  I covered it using designer paper from my stash and added some craft lace down the side, some feathers, and a black flower to compliment the DP.  I printed the image and then cut it out using a spellbinders die.  Image is colored using Pearlescent Chalks and Copic Markers.  I stamped the curvy sentiment at the top of the die cut above the image.

We hope you'll share your Anything But a Card project with at Crafting When We Can.  You can find the challenge HERE.

The Speedy Fox and Friends Blog Challenge at MFP Stamp Shop is to create a patchwork design on the background of your project.

For my card I used a 1 inch punch to punch 9 squares and then mounted them to a cardstock square and layered that onto another cardstock square before adhering to my card base.  I used the dress form and sentiment from the Vintage Fashion stamp set.  I used the Brother Scan N Cut machine to cut out the image.  An embossing folder was also used and vintage photo distress ink used to sponge the edges of the card, images, and patchwork squares.

I used the Brentwood 2015 digital stamp; colored the image with Copic markers.  Die cut using Lil Inkers stitched die.  The background paper is from the Polka Dot Party Project Life kit; the image is mounted on paper from the same kit.  I used the Project Life dies to cut out the arrow and mat that the image is mounted on.  The sentiment is from the MFP New Year 2013 stamp set.
