Altered Eclectics November Challenge

My DT project for the November Altered Eclectics Challenge is an altered bottle!  I used lace to trim around the bottom of the bottle, added a Prima Adhesive Flourish, a pink feather, a handmade pink lace flower, a key hanging from a chain I wrapped around the bottle stopper (I found the bottle stopper at Hobby Lobby!), also added a square of cheesecloth and plopped a Prima bird nest embellishment on top of it; pink lace wrapped around the bottle neck tied in a bow.  And, a Martha Stewart butterfly punch out rests on the lace trim.

It's always anything goes at Altered Eclectics as long as your project is something that has been altered.  We hope you'll play along.  The challenge can be found HERE.

It's Anything Goes at Twisted Tuesday Challenges!

It's the 5th Tuesday of the month!  The Twisted Tuesday Challenge is a Free For All!  Anything Goes!

I named this My Pink Pumpkin!  Even though we are at the end of October, it's still the month of "pink" to me for Breast Cancer Awareness; therefore, my pink pumpkin!

I used the Celtic Mini 8 punch to create the circles which I folded and adhered together the create the look of a paper-crafted pumpkin!  Edges were sponged using Pixie Pink ink; leaves were cut from a sizzix die; the tendrils were created from narrow strips of cardstock that I wrapped around a pencil to create the curl.  A scrap of kraft cardstock was shaped into a think cylinder for the stem.  A pink ribbon punch out was used to embellish one of the pumpkin panels.

We hope you'll play along with us at the Twisted Tuesday Free for All, Anything Goes Challenge!  You can find the challenge HERE.

Crafting When We Can - Handmade Flowers Challenge

The Crafting When We Can Challenge is to create and use your handmade flowers on your project.  The sponsor for this challenge is Lacy Sunshine digital stamps.

The image used on my card is called Honeysuckle Rose from Lacy Sunshine stamps.  I printed the image onto Crafter's Companion White cardstock and colored it using Promarkers.  I used the Spellbinders Blossom Three dies to cutout the image.  Mounted the image onto a Wilton paper doily and then mounted it onto a Blossom Three cutout.  The flower was created using old dictionary pages, punched out with a scallop punch, layered and held together with a brad.  The edges were inked using Distress Spun Sugar ink, a button was adhered into the center of the flower.  The vine was cut from the Sizzix Sizzlits Flowers, Branches, and Leaves die set.  The pink cardbase was cut using a Cameo Die Cutting system being demonstrated at an Archiver's store recently!

We hope you'll play along with this fun challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - Celebrate Naturally!

The Twisted Tuesday Challenge is to create a project with a Celebration theme and the twist is to use some kind of natural element on your creation such as twine, burlap, hemp, hay, leaves, twigs, wood embellishments, etc.)  I chose to use a wooden flourish embellishment on the cover of my mini album.

The base of the album was created using empty "tissue" paper tubes, flattened and wrapped with designer paper!  Empty paper towel tubes could also be used, cut to size and embellished the same way.  I used 3 tubes for the album.  Each tube also has a tag inside the openings that can be used for journaling and pictures.

The mini album theme is celebrate...and that's just what we did this past weekend!  My daughter had an outdoor wedding, so I'm going to complete the album with pictures of the wedding and give to her.

We hope you'll play along with this fun challenge; you can find the challenge HERE.

October 8 - 14th, 2013

As a two time breast cancer survivor, the month of October has special meaning to me.  It gives me an opportunity to dedicate my favorite color, Pink, to breast Cancer Awareness!

I used the Paper Smooches Hope stamp and die sets for my card, along with some awesome colors of Bazzill Pink Cardstock!  The cardbase for my card is Bazzill Date Swirl, a soft gray color.  I used SU Pixie Pink ink.  The larger ribbon at the top was first stamped then die cut.  The words hope and the smaller ribbon were diecut from Bazzill cardstock, no ink.  I also used an embossing folder and a border punch along with a pale pink Taffeta ribbon strip and bow on my card.

Please join us with this weeks challenge in creating a project honoring Breast Cancer Awareness. You can enter your project on our Challenge Blog Here

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - Heavy Metal!

The challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges is to use lots of layers with the twist to use something metal like charms, brads, etc.

My card is a tall tag card!  I used white cardstock for the base, then pink cardstock panel layered with a Julie Nutting Prima tag.  I stamped the Prima tag with the Peasant Prima Doll stamp; paper pieced her dress.  I added lots of Prima Say it in Crystals embellishments.  Other stamps used is the studio g stamp hope and a Magenta floral stem stamp.  The rosette was created using a scrap of patterned paper and the Tim Holtz small rosette die, created a stick pin and added it behind the rosette.  A layer of adhesive lace has been added behind the rosette and stick pin.  A Wilton doily cut in half to embellish each side of the tag layer.  The Hope sentiment has a prima crystal heart centered on the letter O with a metal crystal crown charm above.   Butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.

As a two time survivor of breast cancer, I am dedicating this tag to breast cancer awareness.

We hope you will play along with the Heavy Metal challenge that can be found here.

Altered Eclectics October Challenge - Anything Goes

As a two time survivor of breast cancer, I wanted my Altered Eclectics October DT altered creation to be Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!

I altered a paper mache box and embellished it with an altered paper mache dress form.

I found the dress form in the dollar bin at Michaels and the box at Hobby Lobby.  For the dress form, I covered it with Tim Holtz tissue tape, then used Victorian distress ink to paint it, then covered it with a coating of Modpodge.  I created a "skirt" from pink lace, and a handmade pink lace flower embellish the form.  I covered the box base with a strip of sticky back gems, the edge of the lid was covered with adhesive lace and topped with a cut square of  awareness designer paper adorned with punched butterflies.

You can find the Altered Eclectics Challenge here.  It's anything goes as long as it's altered!  We hope you'll play along.

I'm entering this into the use pink challenge over at Anything But A Card.
Entering into Challenges 4 Everybody.
