Apple of My Eye

I joined a "material girl" swap on splitcoast hosted by stampinggooddeeds. The theme of the swap is to stamp on fabric. I had lots of ideas running through my head but went with stampining on a pot holder! The pocket of the potholder has a recipe for Apple Crisp and a denim die cut flower attached to the corner.

The deets: stamp set Country Apple; distressed inks. A sizzix diecut was used to cut out the flower from iron on patches then inroned the cutouts together; the flower is attached to the recipe card. Embellished the project with deco buttons and ribbon.

Copic Class Advanced Projects

These cards are part of the advanced Copic Class I attended this past Saturday. The airbrush system was used on the card posted on the top. We did lots of blending and shading and used the blender solution and texture to create Hanna's paper pieced outfit in this bottom card. All in all, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot, but know that I have a long way to go to get the desired blending and shading results....so, practice and more practice will be the key!

Copic Class Projects

I attended a Copic marker class this past Saturday. I need to practice, practice, practice! But I do love the cards we made. This set of three cards were created in the beginners class. Practice, practice, practice!

Make Your Own Background & Waxpaper Resist

I'm a swap "addict!" I've also decided to become a challenge addict! I just finished this card for blusky's Embossing Folder/Waxpaper Resist swap and then checked out Penny's Challenge #17 and it was to create a project and use no designer/patterned paper! This swap card fits very nicely! The background for my card was created using a SU embossing folder and wax paper to create the resist on glossy cardstock and then I brayered over the waxed impression (after I ironed it onto the glossy CS!). The technique can be found in the resource section at Splitcoaststampers.

Case of Michelle Z

I attended a Michelle Zindorf brayer class in Nashville, Indiana, recently and can say it was awesome! This is a "case" of the warm up card we did! My card is A2 sized while the class cards were close to being A7 sized. For this card, I changed the size as mentioned, and did change the ribbon and added a photo corner, and used SU inks rather than Adirondack inks. I created this card for Forest Ranger's Winter Wonderland card swap.

Life is better in flip flops

I created this card to participate in a challenge blog! BUT, I don't remember which blog! So, as soon as I discover it again, I'll post the link. :)
Here it is! Penny's Challenge This is my first time to play. I love the sketch and as soon as I saw it I knew that the flip flops were my choice. :)

Flamingo Pink

Breast cancer can occur anytime, any month. October is the month of awareness. Think Pink and remember to schedule your mammogram. Early detection is the best way to treat breast cancer.

Think Pink

I'm going to participate in a breast cancer awareness blog hop the end of this month (I'll post additional info soon). In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, my plan is to post lots of pink this month. This is one of the first altered journal's I made; the year was 2007! Watch for more pink cards and projects in the coming weeks.

Shoes and Friends

I don't really celebrate Halloween but I do like the colors and cute images associated with it! When I found the witches shoes stamp I knew I had to have it to pair with the shoes stamp! (Picture quality not so good; the sentiment reads on the card front Shoes and Friends and on the open card ...You Can Never Have Too Many!)

Pink Hope

Pink has always been one of my favorite colors. As a breast cancer survivor pink has become not only my all-time favorite color, but a symbol of hope. Card created for a "think pink" swap on SCS.

Rustic Rooster

This is a gift set I created for a swap. Picture lighting is very poor so you can't see that the pen barrel matches the notebook and post-it note holder.

Monkey See Monkey Do!

This little monkey was created for a monkey card swap hosted by kbickel on SCS.
I don't usually use flat stickers on my cards, but I couldn't resist these little monkeys!

Card Contest is Over!

The card contest is now over; check out the link below to see whoooooo the winner is! No, I didn't win, but I sure do have lots of fun making cards with the Brentwood Owls! :)

I participated in a JessicaLynnOriginal card swap hosted by blusky on Splitcoaststampers. A contest is now in progress to vote for "best in show" card. My little class clown brentwood card keeps disappearing from the swap hostesses gallery for viewing! (afterall, he is a class clown so I don't put anything past this little Owl!!) LOL

So, here he is, if ya' wanna take a look at the contest card.
And, here's the link to JessicaLynnOriginal blog for voting!
http://jessicalynnoriginal.blogspot.com/

Please vote for the card you think is "best in show;" it's all in fun. I work in education and couldn't pass up creating "the class clown!"

Thank you from my heart StampinQBee!

What an awesome reveal package I received today from you! I love the Hummingbird Feeder and all the beautiful pink wrapped gifts grabbed a special place in my heart.

Pink Unwrapped!

Oh My Oh My; this fabulous box of pink was on my doorstep today from my 6 month secret sister, Deb AKA StampinQBee on SCS! Words cannot express the emotion I felt when I opened the box and saw everything all wrapped up in pink. What fun I've had unwrapping each item, one by one.
I am so grateful that you were my secret sister! Your thoughtfulness warms my heart.

Pink Hugs and Love to you from me.

More Riley

Cheers To You!

I keep saying cards...maybe I should say Stuff!

More Cards

This is a name tag created for a stamp camp. Every attendee received one. Once the camp was over they could then use it as a tote tag or luggage tag, etc.

More Terrific Thursday Cards

This is a paper bag recipe book. I've participated in lots of recipe swaps and decided to create this one-of-a-kind paperbag book and then gave it away to a secret sister a while back. Wish I would have created at least one to keep for myself. But I do love giving. :)

Terrific Thursday

Thank you for the comments received; I'm such a "bad" blogger but am going to get better about posting.

I LOVE Snoopy and want to share Snoopy at the Beach made for a recent swap. I LOVE joining card swaps on Splitcoaststampers. Have met a fabulous group of cardmakers there.

Just the cutest, sweetest little girl!

One more DKOS swap card. Yikes! These are due the end of February and I have two more card groups to complete for this swap! Better get busy! Isn't this little girl just the sweetest?!
I watercolored her using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a Koi waterbrush. Used my coluzzle to cutout around her head and feet then mounted that circle onto a scalloped circle cutout using the nestabilities dies.

She's from the Magnolia stamp line.

Life's A Beach!

February is here and I have a few cards to post!

DKOS stands for "different kind of swap" over in the swap forum on SCS.
